A new phrase..
"Do unto others as you would do to yourself."
This is the phrase that Mdm Ee kept repeating to us in school. Today, we were "forced" to add thickeners to our drink, so that we would get a feel of what our dysphagia patients are drinking..haha..Nectar, honey, and pudding consistency. Among plain water, milo, and barley, the plain water really sucks!! haha..And to think i have to force my poor patients to drink it down.. i guess this experience really helps us to truly understand what our patients undergo..Then only can we try to put ourselves in their shoes..And what's worse, Wednesday we are promised a blended diet by our C.Is! Eww..haha..Looking forward to it? hmm... :P
Only 1 week of working, but why do i feel so cut off from the world, and my friends already? I don't have the time for MSN, checking my mails daily, friendster, or even blogging..Everyday i come home, i have to hit my books, refect on my daily nursing care, reading up on my patient's diagnosis, memorising drugs, and the skills that i've lost touch with..sighs..Nursing is tough! Whoever thinks that nursing is so easy to enter, L1R5=28 also can enter, well, these people definately wont be able to survive in this course..Singaporeans must really learn to respect nurses..
To my dear friends, cherie, michelle, hanlin, jacob..sorry i'm not able to meet you guys, think its been a couple of weeks already? Ohh..trust me, i miss you guys too! I long to hang out with you all soon..i miss the days we can meet every week, just chilling out, catching up, and complain and gossip about everything! Gals, please forgive this poor, ke lian missy who struggling to survive everyday..haha! in the meantime, stay healthy, & happy!! :)
Here's an e-mail my friend sent to me that i want to share with you all..
There was once a woman who woke up one morning and looked in the mirror. She noticed she had only three strands of hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today." So she did and had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two strands of hair on her head.
"Hmm," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today." So she did and had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one strand of hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "Today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEAH!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Moral of the story: Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
