Why do i want to be a nurse?
To all the aspiring Nurses to Be, how do you know you want to be a nurse? I guess every interviewer would ask this question: "Why did you join nursing?"Then, it got me thinking..Well, i have to have an answer right?Recently, I saw this quote from NHG's website:"You know you're meant to be a nurse when you feel in the very depths of your being that nursing is the balm that will nourish your restless spirit. It is what you have to do in order to feel complete."Inspirational right? haha..For me, i joined nursing for the following reasons:1) To get out of MI.2) My parents encouraged me to go for nursing rather than early childhood.3) I thought about it for a while, and well, why not? I could take care of my family when we got older.4) Not everybody who wants to be a nurse, can be a nurse. Its a challenge!5) To save lives.6) Last but not least, as the saying goes, it is a very noble job! And well, the surprising thing was, i didn't very much enjoy biology when i was in Secondary School. And i was always the last in class when it came to bio..And, i was not in St John's either, but i was in Girl's Brigade. hmm..lots of contradictions right? hehe..But after entering this course, i truly found the reason for my exsistence. haha! And i've learnt so much from my lecturers, my C.Is..and i've been having lots of fun..I hope i can survive this remaining semester, and graduate so that i can contribute to the workforce! Yay! Go for it, future-nurses-to-be! ^.^
