Wisdom Teeth Extraction!
I did it! I am back from the op..hehe..Shall not post the disgusting pictures of my teeth though.. (For reader's sake) haha!

I had a pretty good experience..except the first part where the nurse had to spray co-phenylephrine thru your nose to prevent bleeding and to numb it a bit..Its so biter, and te feeling is like swimming pool water going up your nose..Now i pity my pts who have to undergo bronchoscopy awake intuation..After that, GA was very comfortable..i can't recall anything that happened after i was knocked out by the propofol..Not even the part when the anaesthetist wakes me up for extubation..Now i don;t even know if i was being slapped or not..haha!

My anaesthetist, dr koh was very nice..she was asking me what job was i working as, and i had no choice but to tell her that i am an AU nurse too..Then she told me she was classmates with mdm, dr chin..haha..so i presume they are of the same rank..She was complaining about the first 2 pts she had whose veins were so tiny, (lucky mine was bigger), and she was teasing me, telling me to hold my own face mask..Then she told me what drugs she was injecting..Apparantly, the propofol was not painful..maybe she added lignocaine..hehe..Thanks a lot!

Next thing i know, i woke up all groggy in the recovery area..Head was spinning a lot, but there was no pain..Wanted to talk to the nurse, but the words that came out of my mouth were muffled nonsense..haha..But i did manage to ask her whether i struggled during extubation or not, and she said i did not..hehe..I think my op lasted only about 45mins..coz i went in at 10am, and was wheeled out from the recovery area to day surg at 11.15am. Pretty fast surgeon..

I slept a while more in the day surg ward till about 1.30pm, then i called my sis to come and fetch me..My mouth and cheeks felt so numb coz of the LA..I thought my lower lips was my tongue, and it felt like it was swollen like a huge sausage..So i quickly went to the toilet to check, luckily it looks normal..haha..Throat is abit sore from the ETT cuff..And i just sneezed out blood from my left nostril, so i think they intubated thru that nostril..

There was this very nice MO who is stationed in the ward to review and discharge pts, he talked to me for a while coz i was the last pt in the ward already..And he was so cute, i asked him why are the teeth so fragmented? how many teeth was removed?then he told me 2. then i was shocked la, huh? but i told the surgeon to remove 3 le! for a moment i thought i had to come back for another op..after that he checked the op report, then he told me oh, its 3. haha! sickening..then he was telling me about his wisdom tooth op..He said that his pain score was like more than 10 out of 10 when the LA wears off..Trying to scare me loh..Then he gave me ibuprofen to take first..Then the typical naggy nurse was complaining, "eh dr her priscription never order ibuprofen, only ponstan le, you have to order here hor!" then, the dr just rolled his eyes..haha..this scenerio remided me of us too..

For now, let me enjoy my HL!! hehehe... ^.^
